I would love to see you take on the topic of… well, topics. My students are so isolated, only knowing about their city (Houston) and personal issues (immigration and poverty) coupled with not having daily access to the Internet. They need to be exposed to what is happening in the world. I know the traditional AP assignment – follow the columnist. I was thinking they need something in class – provided by me, of course – like for a first 15 (where they watch the news and then respond with a 100 word response).

I do recognize that everything you do is about “topics” — I was just trying to expose my students to the world.

Just to get you all thinking… or not.

Love, love love the blog. It is keeping me sane.

  2. Hi, ladies– I just stumbled upon your blog and am intrigued enough to want to follow it but cannot figure out how to do that. I apologize if it is obvious and I missed it. Could someone please explain, or could you add a widget or something? PS–You may also be interested in my Website, The Literacy Cookbook (www.literacycookbook.com) and blog of the same name (http://theliteracycookbook.wordpress.com/)
